Since the event began back in 2006 we have raised a staggering £20,000 All thanks to YOU! In 2011 we aim to raise over £10,000 for Cancer Research UK, register today and help achieve this.
What is WaterWalk? Back in 2006 we decided that we wanted to do something for Cancer Research UK to raise much needed funds. It was at a period where we had been touched by cancer, with those very dear to us losing their battle against the disease. We felt that there wasn't much where anyone, of any age or sex could come together in a community spirit to raise money and offer support to each other. We came up with the idea of running a sponsored walk along the Lowestoft seafront and 5 years later we are planning our 5th event and have raised over £20,000 for the charity. Since our initial launch we have added a 3 mile run, a 5 mile walk or run and the message of hope ceremony. We have moved from a simple sponsored walk to an event that really brings people together, where fun, laughter and unity is the theme of the day and well needed money is raised for Cancer Research. We are completely dependant on the support of our participants and strongly believe that every penny really does count. This years event will take place on Sunday 18th September and we would love to see you there, please take a look at our event detail page for further information.
